Liver transplant is surgery is done to replace a diseased liver with a healthy liver. It is a major surgery, and hence patients should try to undergo the procedure at any of the Top liver hospital in India. The donated liver usually comes from a donor who has recently died and has not had liver injury. There also are instances where a healthy person donates a part of their liver to a person with a diseased liver.

The most common reason for Liver Transplant Surgery in India in children is biliary atresia, while for adults it is cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is scarring of the liver that prevents the liver from performing its functions.  There can be several causes of cirrhosis including:

  • Long-term alcohol overuse

  • Long-term infection with hepatitis B or hepatitis C

  • Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (also called non-alcoholic steatohepatitis or NASH)

  • Acute toxicity from an overdose of acetaminophen or due to consuming poisonous mushrooms

If Fatty liver treatment in Delhi is not done in time, then the condition of the liver may get worse, and lead to cirrhosis over time.  To lower the risk of cirrhosis, people having any of the liver disease discussed above should seek proper treatment.
